Ceres is a national coalition of investors, public pension trustees, foundations, labor unions, and environmental, religious and public interest groups, dedicated to increasing corporate environmental accountability and usually has multiple summer internship position available in both their Investor Program and Corporate Accountability Program.
*Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program (theihs.org)
The Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program offers internships in Washington, D.C., in the fields of public policy and non-profit management, as well as placements at State-Based Policy Networks across the country. The internship also includes: Career Workshops; Seminars and Speakers; $1,500 Stipend; Housing and Airfare. The deadine is usually January 31st.
*National Academies Christine Mirzayan Internship Program
The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program of the National Academies is designed to engage graduate science, engineering, medical, veterinary, business, and law students in the analysis that informs the creation of science and technology policy and to familiarize them with the interactions of science, technology, and government. Winter, summer, and fall fellowships are available with the summer time frame being from June-August (10 weeks). Fellows receive a stipend and the deadline for the summer is usually March 1st.

The Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) is a national, non-profit organization that develops professionals for the environmental field through paid environmental internships at government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and companies across the United States and its territories. The length of these internships can range from three months to two years.
*US EPA Intern Program (epa.gov/ohr/eip)
The EPA Intern Program (EIP) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a comprehensive, entry-level, professional, full-time employment and career development program. As a program participant, you will join an intensive two-year program to help you "jump-start" your career and develop your potential for future advancement within the Agency. U.S Citizenship is required. Application materials are made available annually in January with start dates for interns around August.
*Everett Public Service Internship Program (everettinternships.org)
Annual summer internship program lasting 10 weeks where undergraduate/graduate students enrolled in a U.S. institution work on substantive projects in the areas of the environment, social justice, health advocacy, art, education, or social change for one of the organizations affiliated with Everett in either New York City or Washington, DC. Each Everett Intern is given a stipend, and deadlines to apply are usually between March-April.
*Genentech Summer Internship Program (gene.com/careers/college/internships)
The Genentech Internship Program is an intensive 10-12 week program during the summer. Interns participate as members of project teams in research, development, manufacturing or business areas that complement their college curricula with relevant hands-on experience. In the past, F&ES students have interned Genentech working on an Environmental Health and Safety-related project. The application deadline is usually early-mid February (annually).

*Overseas for Private Investment (OPIC) (opic.gov)
OPIC offers a summer internship program every year where our students typically work in the Office of Investment Policy/Environmental Group. The environmental department looks at the potential environmental impact of the OPIC proposed projects and categorizes them according to severity of impacts.
*Orion Grass Roots Network (orionsociety.org)
The Orion Grass Roots Network is a source for U.S. jobs, internships, and apprenticeships with grassroots organizations working on issues such as conservation, education, social justice, sustainable agriculture, and etc.
*Resources for the Future Summer Internship Program (rff.org)
RFF has annual paid summer internships for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), Quality of the Environment (QE), and Risk, Resource, and Environmental Management (RREM). Priority consideration is given to graduate students. The program is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens if enrolled at a U.S. university. Deadlines are usually in mid-March.
*U.S. State Department Summer Internships (careers.state.gov)
The Department is looking for students with a broad range of majors, such as Business or Public Administration, Social Work, Economics, Information Management, Journalism, and the Biological and Physical and Engineering Sciences, as well as those majors more traditionally identified with international affairs. The majority of all internships are UNPAID but Pending the availability of funding, a limited number of PAID internships are available to students who can demonstrate financial need. The application deadline for summer internships is usually November 1st.
*Stone Barns Summer Internships (stonebarnscenter.org) Stone Barns welcomes interns who are dedicated to our mission to celebrate, teach and advance community-based food production and enjoyment. Interns will focus on one component of Stone Barns Center: livestock, four seasons growing, education programs, public programs, or development/nonprofit management. Internships are unpaid.

RFF offers a paid internship for graduate students with a special interest in Chinese environmental issues to spend time at RFF in Washington, DC. Chinese students are particularly encouraged to apply. Students will earn a stipend and deadlines are usually at the end of February.

The Internship Program is open to students who are nationals of the Bank's member countries. To be eligible for the Internship Program, candidates must possess an undergraduate degree and already be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a Master's degree or PhD with plans to return to school in a full-time capacity). The Bank pays an hourly salary to all Interns and, where applicable, provides an allowance towards travel expenses. Most positions are located in Washington, DC. The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program of the National Academies is designed to engage graduate science, engineering, medical, veterinary, business, and law students in the analysis that informs the creation of science and technology policy and to familiarize them with the interactions of science, technology, and government. Winter, summer, and fall fellowships are available with the summer time frame being from June-August (10 weeks). Fellows receive a stipend and the deadline for the summer is usually March 1st.

U.S Citizenship is required. Application materials are made available annually in January with start dates for interns around August.

Annual summer internship program lasting 10 weeks where undergraduate/graduate students enrolled in a U.S. institution work on substantive projects in the areas of the environment, social justice, health advocacy, art, education, or social change for one of the organizations affiliated with Everett in either New York City or Washington, DC. Each Everett Intern is given a stipend, and deadlines to apply are usually between March-April.

The Genentech Internship Program is an intensive 10-12 week program during the summer. Interns participate as members of project teams in research, development, manufacturing or business areas that complement their college curricula with relevant hands-on experience. RFF has annual paid summer internships for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), Quality of the Environment (QE), and Risk, Resource, and Environmental Management (RREM). Priority consideration is given to graduate students. The program is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens if enrolled at a U.S. university. Deadlines are usually in mid-March.

The Internship Program is open to students who are nationals of the Bank's member countries. To be eligible for the Internship Program, candidates must possess an undergraduate degree and already be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a Master's degree or PhD with plans to return to school in a full-time capacity). The Bank pays an hourly salary to all Interns and, where applicable, provides an allowance towards travel expenses. Most positions are located in Washington, DC.
